Act II: John Proctor's Home
John Proctor's home was to be presented as a warmer, safe and cozy home, with a large stone fireplace (presumably built by Proctor himself). The fireplace was covered with irregularly-carved pieces of one-inch and two-inch Styrofoam, covered with sharktooth scrim, and painted with highlight and shadow. The gable window was a more simple Gothic-like arch (again, backed with black tricot - barely visible in this picture).
Lighting in this act had a cooler feel to it, as it was evening, but had touches of warm downlight by the fireplace, and had a very directional, low angle front warm light casting long shadows, ala candlelight. This was done with a Source Four from the balcony rail with a horizontal breakup.
